{"id":128,"date":"2026-01-11T19:14:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T19:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dianaludwick.com\/?p=128"},"modified":"2026-01-11T19:14:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T19:14:12","slug":"eighty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dianaludwick.com\/?p=128","title":{"rendered":"Eighty"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">In thirty eight years, when I am eighty<br>Who will celebrate with me?<br><br>Who will be in the room<br>Cheering me on, roasting me, toasting me, while<br>Reminiscing, reveling, reuniting and rekindling?<br><br>A second lifetime away from tonight<br>Who will I be<br>What will I have accomplished<br>Where will I have ventured?<br><br>I hope that room will be filled with<br>Loved ones<br>Laughter and<br>Ludicrous amounts of food.<br><br>I send my signals into the universe<br>I beckon longevity and vibrancy to<br>Linger in my bones<br>Frolic in my tendons<br>Ripple through my nerves<br>Anoint my brain with lucidity<br>So that I can be fully present<br>In my mind and in my body<br>On this brightly envisioned night so far from now.<br><br>Tonight, I sip a mug of hot slumber tea<br>And slurp magnesium powder<br>Reconstituted to a cloudy suspension in cool water,<br>And practice my nightly relaxing meditation<br>And stream spa music<br>And don my fuzzy bed socks.<br><br>These nightly rites I perform in a quest<br>To raise the odds that<br>I will be in that room<br>On the eightieth anniversary<br>Of my birth.<br><br>Lastly, I prepare my sleep mask<br>To shield my eyes from <br>Nocturnal light that could<br>Threaten my ambitions of rejuvenation.<br><br>To bold dreams; <br>Long may life carry me.<br><br><br><br><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEighty,\u201d poem 010 in a series of 365 written in 2026 by Diana Ludwick.
