After a deep sigh, she expands:

\u201cI say, 'Ugh<\/span> it\u2019s humid!'\u201d
And she says: 'Curtain bangs! 
They\u2019d save you.'
\"And then she goes:
'I mean, well. You\u2019d have to put a lot<\/em> 
of work into them.
But then you\u2019d have<\/em> them!'\"

My daughter rolls her eyes.

I then catch her in my periphery
as her fingers trace 
the sides of her face
framing out potential fringe.
