Good Morning, Campsite

Good morning campsite
Good morning downpour
Good morning leaking tent
Good morning mossy teeth

Good morning call-and-repeat songs
Good morning squealing kids
Good morning frontal migraine
Good morning exhausted Leader
Good morning miles of soaking wet tarp

Good morning ratchet lines
high above tippy-toe-elevated,
outstretched fingertips

Good morning
saturated washcloths
straining on clothes lines

Good morning soggy muffins
and sticky paper liners
peeled and eaten in quiet gratitude
from damp camping chairs.

Good morning water-logged
shredded cheese packets
swimming in red coolers

Good morning well-traveled
clementines in orange mesh bag

Good morning laminated trail maps
with rainwater inside

Good morning sleeping rolls,
yoga mats and air mattresses
that multiplied overnight

Good morning water bottles
smeared with grime and grit

Good morning open tailgate
with rivulets of brown sludge
dripping into the passenger seats

Good morning scampering Scouts
sprint-walking across deflated tents
in hiking boots caked in mud

Good morning toothbrush,
finally discovered

Good morning troop,
rain or shine,
we have each other!
