we are loved
we are missed.

The roses that line
the path of this
Hero's Journey
will vary in vibrance
from bud to bloom
to withering crisp
of a memory.

And the thorns
that snag and scratch
along the way
will range from
fresh and thick
to dry and sharp
to shattered.

And each of these states
provide the contrast needed
to live deeply in the next.
