The Met Gala unfolds
on the streets of New York.
Fashion Is Art,
the theme prescribed
to Green Carpet walkers.
Anna Wintour
matched the runway,
but of course
darling.
Chase Infiniti graced us,
a modern Venus de Milo,
draped in one and a half
million sequins, aligned
into a technicolor dress
version of a confit byaldi.
Beyoncé, our Queen,
our Goddess Bey,
our Co-Chair and
parasocial confidante,
she arrived airing her all:
dazzling skeleton,
debutante daughter,
artful husband.
A different woman,
Madame X if you please
- and her husband, some guy -
they donated ten million dollars.
And let's pause and say, yes.
That is generous.
Even if, no bite your tongue,
it is but a small percentage
of their wealth.
Source aside,
may Art prosper.
May taste persevere.
That's all.
Art captures life
life rushes after art
and so it goes
"...round and round and round
in the circle game"
like Joni Mitchell once sang.
