Scroll
“Scroll,” A slightly-hinged stream of consciousness while un-asleep in the wee hours of a dark Autumn morning, written Friday, October 09, 2026 poem 282 in a series of 365 poems written by Diana Ludwick in 2026.
One forty two in the morning
and I've already lived each minute.
That tingle of a patch of dryness
at the back of the throat,
the calling card for nasopharyngitis
Taunts me, the scratch remains
untouchable by the cool water
in my bedside glass.
And so: I scroll quartzite reels
Croissant lamination videos
Double oven do’s and don’t infographics.
My thumb finds me in politics:
First:
Take downs of Susan Dell
and her uncanny doll-like stare
Next:
Defenses of Susan Dell and her philanthropy
Then:
Critical analyses following
the Dell’s money
and the president’s stock purchases
from December 2025 to June to —
Hail Queen!
Mrs. Rachel GRWM spoofs
Now I'm taking notes:
How-to capture and kill
those infernal fruit flies
with household materials.

Here are the right techniques

(Take-away: whatever you do, don't F up!)
Frown, I am now watching:
a tell-all podcast featuring Lance Bass
explaining how he and his boy bandmates
were trafficked at the hand of Lou Perlman —
The 1990s, the 2000s, so toxic –
Brittney Spears, dancing with knives.
A self-satisfied Martha Stewart post
about harvesting her own saffron
from her thousands of purple crocus blooms –
Followed by comments section
overflowing with proud posts
stating 95% of saffron hails from Iran.
Observe: Joke posts about ADHD
Scan: Joke posts about inept husbands
Cue: Carpet cleaning instructional
